The season is back and the fishing is hot! We are finding a lot of walleye in 25 to 35 feet of water, with fish up to 29 inches coming from the shallower post-spawn areas. Our guides are catching 20-30 walleye a day with several large enough to take into our delicious daily shore lunches. The jig and minnow has been the ticket so far this season, but we are starting to get more fish using nightcrawlers on worm harnesses or jigs. Pike have been lower in numbers compared to the walleye, but we are finding large fish from 5-30 feet of water. Many of the pike our guests have been catching are coming while jigging for walleye with a jig and minnow, but there are several reports of them aggressively attacking minnowbaits in the shallow bays. We do have last minute availability most weeks through Canada Day, so call today and get into the action! Ask to speak with one of our guides and we will be happy to fill you in on the best baits for the time of year you are coming.
